Cycles and circles going round,
We love the beginning but the ending brings us down.
Seasons keep turning one into another,
We come to believe that we know the order.
Where’s the beginning & where’s the end?
It doesn’t seem clear, they seem to blend.
There’s birth and there’s death and there’s time in between,
There’s more than what we know,
There’s more than what we’ve seen.
We think birth is the beginning,
And death is the end.
But have you ever peered around that bend?
If life is a cycle than how do we know,
Just where it started and which way it goes?
We like to keep order and give the world rules,
But who says we know it all, that we have the right tools?
Like the seasons keep turning again & again,
Are you sure you know the difference ‘tween beginning & end?
When one season ends another begins,
But then we see the same season all over again.
We look at the world through rules that we’ve made,
But maybe the world just doesn’t obey.
When death meets us then we’ll know,
If it’s really the end or just part of the flow.
